The HEX-4 was designed after the HEX-2 with some modifications. Some differences from the HEX-2: · Crankshaft uses 1/2” TGP (Turned Ground Polished) rather than the 5/8” TGP for the HEX-2. · Uses 1/2” reamer which is easier to find and less expensive than the 5/8” reamer. · An alternative method to build the engine uses sleeve bearings rather than cutting grooves for the connecting rod clearance. · Requires the ability to cut groves internally of the crankshaft using a boring bar. Tolerances for the groves are very large. This is not required if using the bearing sleeves. · The 17/32-40 Tap is practically a must unless you can cut the threads using a 4-jaw chuck. It can be done but requires more time and setup. · The HEX-4 uses an intake manifold.
